Complaints and Appeals Policy
Complaints and appeals may be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief of Obras y Proyectos through the journal 's official email address, oyp@ucsc.cl.
Upon receipt, the submission will be acknowledged through the same channel and subjected to an initial assessment of its admissibility and merits. The Editorial Team will be informed accordingly and will have 15 business days to reach a decision.
The Editor-in-Chief may resolve the complaint or appeal directly by issuing a reasoned decision or may initiate an investigation, as appropriate. The complainant and all parties involved will be duly informed of the decision and, where applicable, of the initiation of an investigation.
If an investigation is initiated, the parties involved may be requested to provide additional information or data and may be given the opportunity to submit a formal response. Based on the information collected, the Editor-in-Chief will issue a final decision. Depending on the circumstances of the case, the decision may result in the dismissal or confirmation of the complaint or appeal, a request for additional information, or other appropriate measures. The final decision will be communicated by email.
When a complaint or appeal is upheld, the outcome will be communicated to all parties involved and, where appropriate, to the author's affiliated institution. Where warranted by the circumstances of the case, the journal will take appropriate editorial action, which may include the correction, retraction, or removal of published content
