Artificial Intelligence Policy

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools cannot be listed as authors, as they cannot assume responsibility for submitted works. However, their use is not prohibited, as long as it is fully and transparently disclosed.

As entities without individual legal responsibility, AI tools cannot declare the existence or absence of conflicts of interest, enter into copyright or licensing agreements, or assume responsibility for the manuscript.

Authors who use AI tools for the partial drafting of the manuscript, the generation of images or graphic elements, or the collection and analysis of data must disclose their use in the relevant section of the manuscript, clearly specifying the tool used and how it was used, for example, in the Materials and Methods, Methodology, or any other relevant section of the manuscript.

In all cases, the authors are fully responsible for the content of the manuscript, including any parts generated using AI tools, and therefore also for any breaches of publication ethics resulting from their use.
