About the Journal

Aims and Scope

Obras y Proyectos publishes original research articles, review papers, technical notes, case studies, and innovation contributions that report methodological, technological, or applied advances. Particular consideration is given to manuscripts that combine rigorous analysis, verifiable evidence, and potential for application in the design, construction, operation, assessment, and improvement of engineering systems, works, and projects.

Its thematic scope encompasses structural engineering and materials; hydraulics and water resources; geotechnical engineering; construction and infrastructure; transportation, mobility, and logistics; energy and energy efficiency; environmental engineering and sustainability; natural hazards, safety, and resilience in engineering; and modelling, simulation, optimization, and data analysis applied to engineering problems.

Peer review

All manuscripts are initially assessed by the editorial team to determine their suitability for the journal and compliance with its editorial requirements. Manuscripts that meet these requirements are subsequently evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by at least two external peer reviewers who are independent of both the editorial team and the Engineering College at Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción.

Based on the reviewers' recommendations and the editorial assessment, manuscripts may be accepted, accepted subject to minor or major revisions, or rejected. In all cases, authors will be informed of the editorial decision and any revisions required.

The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the peer-review process. The editorial team may make minor editorial changes to accepted manuscripts to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with the journal's editorial standards.
